I find a lot of the evidence shown regarding ARK very disturbing. I am a newer resident in DeLand of 7 months and coming from Upstate New York we do not have kill shelters. I understand the need for medical necessary euthanasia but don't believe in it due to overcrowding and I also believe each animal deserves a fighting chance. I am concerned for these animals and don't believe that they should be returned to the ARK Facility or their affiliated caretakers. My home is bigger than this facility and I have 2.5 acres and not for one second would local or state officials find those conditions acceptable for me as a homeowner and it should be even more unacceptable as a registered non for profit organization. You (Maggi) should ALWAYS have your premise and animal holding areas in pristine condition. Your animals should live like kings and queens!! It is your job to ALWAYS provide them with the absolute best of vet care and housing until they are to find permanent homes, after all YOU have accepted this responsibility. To do anything less then this is horridly unacceptable. To have even ONE suffering animal in your care in a disgrace. Any person who has cats and basic knowledge of them when they have any type of upper respiratory illness knows that they are NOT to be housed with healthy animals. Furthermore, had I ever taken a cat to my vet in the condition of the 2 cats in the released seizure videos THEY WOULD HAVE NEVER SENT THEM HOME IN THAT CONDITION!!!! I could go on and on here but I'll save the rest of my letter for my statement to DeLand officials to ensure my voice gets heard.
