It is sad that the Volusia County Schools do not use great teaching techniques in every classroom. There are a few classes that children and parents want their kids to be in because the great teachers are known to the parents and the students.

Technology could help people learn to think which might be the best possible goal for our education system. Standardized test check the facts and not the processes of thinking. Textbooks contain errors because so many are outdated. Charles Dickens wrote of Mr.. Gradgrind, who just wanted to teach the facts, in the 19th century. This is the 21st century and we must do it differently in order to get a better outcome.
