We are one of the places who are temporarily "housing" the seized animals. We have about 1/3 of them (mostly cats). I am very sad to say that ~80% of them are very ill. They have SEVERE upper respiratory tract infections, 3 of them may lose their eyes from deep melting corneal ulcerations, and one kitten is fighting for it's life as I write this. None of them are malnourished and some of them have been recently spayed/neutered. I have no vaccine history on them, but most do have intestinal parsites such hook and roundworms. The dogs were flea infested. These animals are under veterinary care and are also receiving lots of love and support from the staff. Please know that no matter whose side you are on, these animals need help. Unfortunately, most of these animals are not healthy and a few may not survive. We have not slept for the last 24 hours and we will do everything possible to ensure the health, safety and comfort of these precious animals. Please be kind to each other...ultimately it's the animals that we all care about.
