I am not against Mr. Davis having an assistant. I do have a problem with him hiring someone from the outside who the TAXPAYERS will now be obligated to provide with full benefits, including retirement, AND if at the end of his term Mr. Davis does not run or he is not re-elected the County will still be required to keep the person who is hired on the payroll. The ONLY way this would be acceptable with me is IF the person was hired as a contract employee and the ENTIRE compensation was not over $40K per year.
