Yay! I'm so happy they're reopening so soon. We just moved to the north side of Deland and it has been a bit of a nuisance driving down to the one on the south side. I love Publix, they're great to their employees and that means a lot to me as someone who was laid off from Walmart and then offered my old job back at minimum wage. I was talking to a bagboy at Publix in the south Deland store and he stated that he didn't miss even an hour of work, he was transferred to that one the next day. Walmart would have just fired the extra employees for "productivity" or worse yet "insubordination" to insure they couldn't collect unemployment. I will shop at Publix exclusively so long as they continue to treat their employees decently. Just wish they had a job opening because I would love to work there.
