If you’re looking for a fun outing for your youth or adult group, consider a tour of The Beacon, at 110 W. New York Ave. in Downtown DeLand.
You’ll see how reporters gather information, how digital photos are processed for printing, and how we keep track of thousands of subscribers, and learn what it takes to make a newspaper succeed. You’ll learn about the many people who work at The Beacon in a variety of jobs.
Daytime and evening tours are available. Tours generally last an hour, and can be tailored for kindergartners through senior citizens. We can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people; special arrangements can sometimes be made for larger groups.
